Grants and Program Funding
The Alumni Association, through its Board of Directors, provides funds to support projects and grants that bring students and alumni together. Recent beneficiaries include: Bucknell Public Interest Program Summer Internships, Scholarship Endowments, Intercollegiate Business Plan Competition, Bucknell “Be” Fashion Magazine, Homecoming Edition, Bucknell Brigade Mural and Dedication, Matching Gifts for Young Alumni Financial Donations.
Business Partner Programs
The Alumni Association has partnered with several service providers to offer products at a discounted rate to alumni. The Association established these programs to provide value for the alumni community while generating revenue for the Association, allowing it to operate without charging membership fees.
Insurance
Special rates on insurance are available.
Liberty Mutual has partnered with the Bucknell University Alumni Association to offer a discount on auto and home insurance through their Group Savings Plus® program. Visit Liberty Mutual Auto & Home Insurance.
Insurance with You in Mind

Career Services
The Association Board of Directors provided seed money for the
Alumni Career Services program. This program provides alumni lifetime career assistance, networking events and career counseling. Alumni also have access to more than 48,000 alumni through the B-Link
Alumni Directory.
Bucknell Business Directory
The Alumni Association Board of Directors has developed the online
Bucknell Business Directory as a starting point for doing business with members of the Bucknell Community. The Directory is another access point into Bucknell’s powerful network of 75,000 alumni, parents and friends of the University. You can search the Directory by Geography or by Product/Service Type and find Bucknell affiliated businesses that have special offers just for Bucknellians.
Club/Network Activities
All alumni have free membership to
regional clubs and
industry/professional networks (quite a perk when industry standard is to charge annual fees for membership). The Association partners with Club and Network Leadership and financially supports two annual events across the country (Community Service Day – April; Welcome Happy Hour events for new graduates - September).
Admissions
Children of alumni can attend college preparatory events through the
Legacy Program during Homecoming and Reunion weekends. Alumni can also engage with newly admitted members of the Bucknell community through the volunteer Alumni Mentor Program.
Alumni Association Awards
Each year during Reunion Weekend, the Association Board of Directors celebrates four alumni through the
Alumni Association Awards. This tradition began in 1951 with the introduction of the Loyalty to Bucknell Award and grew during the 1950s to include Service to Humanity and Outstanding Achievement in a Chosen Profession.
In 2001, a fourth award honoring an outstanding Young Alumni was introduced.
Read stories of past recipients or submit a confidential
nomination of a deserving alumna/us (due annually by November 15
th).
