A Retrospective and Guided Walking Tour
Our featured speaker is:
Stephen Buonopane, Ph.D.
The Robert L. Rooke Chair in the Historical and Social Context of Engineering,
Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Professor Buonopane will provide a short talk illustrated with numerous historic images followed by a walking tour on the bridge promenade. The Brooklyn Bridge has all the trademarks of a great American story, including larger than life personalities, corruption, politics, technological innovation—all resulting in the design and construction of a bridge of unprecedented scale.
